What should I bring to tryouts and practices?
- A great attitude and willingness to follow instructions, play hard, and have fun!
- A reversible practice jersey if you have one or can borrow one.
- Yourself fully dressed for basketball. Locker rooms will not be provided for changing.
- Each participant should have a parent or legal guardian present. If no parent or legal guardian can attend, then the participant must use the link below to print and completely fill out the following forms. You must bring these forms with you to tryouts.
- Participants with a parent or legal guardian attending are also encouraged to fill out the above forms prior to coming to tryouts as it will very much speed up the registration process!
How do I know what age group I belong to?
- Great question! To determine your age bracket use AAU's age chart below. The age determinations in 2012 are the same ones AAU used for 2011.
- 4th grade/9U...A child must be in the 4th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 11 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 5th grade/10U...A child must be in the 5th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 12 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 6th grade/11U...A child must be in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 13 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 7th grade/12U...A child must be in the 7th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 14 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 8th grade/13U...A child must be in the 8th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 15 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 9th grade/14U...A child must be in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 16 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 10th grade/15U...A child must be in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 17 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 11th grade/16U...A child must be in the 11th grade as of October 1, 2011 and cannot turn 18 prior to September 1, 2012.
- 12th grade/18U...We will consider 12th graders on an individual basis. We may combine them with one of our 11th grade teams (and then play as a 12th Grade/18U team), or we may form an independent team of 12th graders/18U.
